Gulliver SLSCDecember 7th was a very different school day for Gulliver students; instead of classes, they participated in a daylong conference on climate change and rising sea level in South Florida. The event at Miller Drive featured a panel of climate change experts from Florida International University, including Kate MacMillin (FIU School of Journalism and Mass Communication), Tiffany Troxler (Director of the FIU Sea Level Solutions Center), and Juliet Pinto, who recently returned from the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP21). Students also learned about a useful app from Eyes on the Rise, which lets you put in your address to see where and how it will be affected by rising water over the coming years.
